June!

Oh my goodnes gracious! The second weekend in June is staring me in the face. Here is where to find me:

June 11 - 11:00 - 1 I'll be at the Old Town Art Fair aka Riverfront Art Fair. Look for the Mankato Makerspace spot behind the Coffee Hag 329 N. Riverfront, Mankato, MN. The fair has food and music well into the early evening but 'm only there until 1.

The Mankato Makerspace is where I spend my teaching time and I can be found there on Tuesdays from 4 - 8pm. If you happen to be in the area, I'll also be at the Makerspace on Friday, June 10th, noon to 6pm and Friday, June 17th, noon to 4pm.

I'm currently working on new styles to add to my selections.

The Full Wellington - a 2 piece tall boot, the predecessor to the modern cowboy boot.

The Packer - a lace up cowboy boot.

So I'm creating new crimping boards, the shaping tool for making the leather bend with few wrinkles to get the classic profile of a cowboy boot. I'm in the woodshop. I'm also learning new pattern drafting techniques and dusting off my protractor. Yes, math is involved with everything kids. You do need to learn math.

Nick, your boots will be my first Full Wellingtons for this new technique I'm learning so watch for pictures.

I have an alligator project I've started as well as a backpack and a knife roll. No, I don't sit still and yes, I'm way behind as I still have a life outside leather.... I play in a band.
